I absolutely loved Girl in the Shadows! It's not action-packed or super fast paced, but it was really good. Moira has always lived in the shadows backstage at her dad's magic show, and she's always wanted to be a magician, but her father is totally against it. So she does the obvious thing. She steals her friend's Cirque invitation, lies to her father, and runs away. At the Cirque, she learns some very interesting, new things about herself and gets into a smidge (HA!) of trouble. She also meets the Dez, the cutie-knife throwing-patootie whom she is instantly attracted to. The only problems for me though, were how easily Moira accepted things. If a stranger told me something life changing, or I'd just met my mom for the first time, I'd doubt them. Also, If the man I loved lied to me, I wouldn'y be able to just get over it. But other than that, it's great. In conclusion, Girl in the Shadows is amazing, and I couldn't put it down. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I received this copy from the publisher (Victory Editing) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review Endangered is a cute, funny book that readers will love. It's about Hades' and Persephone's teenage (in goddess age, she's real been alive thousands of years) daughter Chrys and her best friend/tutor/crush Henley. Chrys has been hidden in the underworld with her father her whole life, and has always dreamed about seeing the world. When she is finally pushed to the limit, Chrys, Henley, and their demigod friend AJ sneak away to earth. They have a grand time, but there is always the threat of them being found out Endangered is multiple POV which I absolutely love in any book. Unfortunately, this book is just chock-full of grammatical errors. Lots of sentences don't make sense and the words "worse" and "worst" are often mixed up. I do really like that Hades was portrayed as a good guy and that Zeus, usually a hero, was the antagonist. Also, him (Hades) being the supportive parent was very unexpected which was cool. It's not a great, epic read, but it's definitely a fun, fast read. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Perfect for an in-between read when you're waiting for a new book to be released or something like that. PS. There are a few curse words, which I thought was fine, and added to the story. But I know some people have a problem with it, so, just a warning. First of all, I'd like to thank Chrysanthalix Press or whoever it is who approves netgalley requests. They were the only company that accepted my request. Anywho, the book. I wasn't even able to finish it. I truly tried, but it was just so hard! I was always lost as to what was going on, and I had SO many questions. What's with the gas mask? How old are they? Where are they? America? Japan? I'm sure some of these were answered later in the book, but I didn't feel the need to continue if I didn't understand what was happening. Also, the name of the book is "Hatred Day" but literally nothing was explained about hatred day. It didn't add anything. And, I absolutely hate the name Snofrid. I get that it's the future or whatever and everyone has strange names, but I kept trying to picture her as a pretty young girl but I just kept seeing this: I have no idea why. I'm not even sure what that is( I saw it on tumblr once) but it's what came to my mind every time I read the word "Snofrid". It was most definatley not the worst book I've ever read (cough, cough, Girl on a Train) but I would never read it again. Now, that's not saying I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, because I'm sure others will like it, but really, it's not for me.
Picture from: http://noot-noot-mother-fucker.tumblr.com/post/91535779229/mcry-how-t-o-kiss-boy-walk-over-to-a-boy I really liked Love and Decay. I got it for free on book bub and after reading the description I was really excited to read it. It's about 2 20-year-old girls named Haley and Reagan who live in a post apocalyptic zombie world. The story behind the zombies was really interesting. They were created by a cure for herpes that went bad and cause a disease that turn people into zombies and then they went and turned other people. So, Haley and Reagan have been out living on the streets for two years and then one day when they're in an abandoned department store they meet the Parker family who decide to help them. The Parker family consists of five boys ages 20's through 15. There's also an eight-year-old girl named page who they'll do anything to protect. When things go bad in the department store the Parker family and Haley and Reagan all have to flee and they decide to continue south together. On their journey they run into militia groups, creepy cults- and not to mention zombies. There also is a bit of a love triangle and a love story between Haley and one of the brothers. Reagan is in a love triangle with Hendrix and Vaughn. Hendrix is my favorite. I loved him even though he was kind of a jerk and came across as a caveman. This is how I picture him: He's all bearded and dangerous. Reagan at one point compared them to duck dynasty. Like I said, I really like this book but there were some things that confused me or I just didn't like. For instance, the set up is a little weird. I get that it's supposed to be a TV show where episodes come out every so often and they make up a season but it was just a little weird to me. also, I really did not like Haley's point of view. I don't think we really needed to see that. Another minor thing, and I don't know if this is just me or what but whenever they were in the car the author mention captain seats which I have never heard before and I didn't understand what they were talking about at first. Other than that though, it was in and amazing book. It was super funny I loved that the author put humor into a situation that would've been so scary and super serious and it was overall awesome and everyone should totally read it.Pictures from: http://www.rachelhigginson.com/p/love-and-decay.html?m=1
